Summary/Abstract: The present paper is an attempt to explore the thematic and technical achievement of the contemporary Algerian novelist (b. 1953) as seen in her influential novel, Memory of the Flesh (1993). Although there are casual references to her other novels, the main emphasis of this paper is laid on this particular novel as it represents the core of her art.
