The Interpretation and Methodical Analysis of the Legend

Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the genre of the legend in recent children and juvenile literature. The legend stands on the borderline between fantasy literature (tale) and historical information. The problem of authenticity and the artistry of the legend are discussed together with the issue of the literary remodelling of the story of the legend, the problem of extremeness as the basic structural feature of the legend, the definition and the boundaries of genre variety of the legend, its interpretive positions and variations. Zuzana Kuglerová is a contemporary Slovak author of legends. The paper pays attention to the interpretation of her text and the methodical analysis of the legend.
