Summary/Abstract: One of the simplest methods of determining the real estate price indices is a method based on the study of the dynamics of the average prices calculated for certain periods on the local market. In the role of the average are usually used the arithmetic averages or median. This method, like the rest of the other methods of determining the price indices for the real estate market has such advantages as well as disadvantages. In this article, based on empirical research, attempts to answer the question of whether and to what extent the arithmetic mean and median can be the basis for constructing price indices for the real estate market?
