Summary/Abstract: The competitor’s competitiveness depends to a large extent on the level of innovativeness of enterprises and on employees and their qualifications. Currently, there is an increasing need for employees to improve their skills and adapt to changes in the labor market in an appropriate manner. The development of human capital can take place in various paths, through self-education and the desire to develop or exchange experiences in employee teams. Training is a process whose aim is to acquire new skills and change their behavior, which enables them to achieve their goals and results in their professional work. The aim of the publication is to discuss selected aspects of human capital theory and issues in the field of training, the functioning of Academic Business Incubators (AIP) and presentation of research results on the impact of Academic Business Incubators (AIP) on the role of training in human capital development in the knowledge economy.
