Summary/Abstract: Due to demographic and work supply changes HR managers will soon face the problem of the age diversity management which includes dealing with various types of stereotypes regarding the perception of the oldest employees as incompetent and unfit for the labor market. In the present paper I is verify the determinants of negative attitude towards mature employees. I use the WVS data to verify how the social and economic status, sense of security in the labor market and the level of trust in others influence the perception of the elderly employees. The results show that the social capital plays crucial role.
