Preferencje mieszkańców a kształtowanie przestrzeni miejskiej
Inhabitants’ preferences and the formation of urban space

Summary/Abstract: Urban space should be shaped in such a way as to be able to meet the expectations of its inhabitants. However, it is diffcult to determine which elements of development of residential areas are most important when assessing the conditions related to the surveyed space. Therefore, in order to determine the desired directions of development of urban areas a study of residents’ preferences was carried out. The article presents the methodology of the survey research of residents’ preferences and their opinions related to the development of housing space. Survey questionnaires developed by the author were used to study the expectations of future residents of the planned estate and the existing buildings planned for modernization.
