Summary/Abstract: To become a member of the European Union Poland had to change its legislation and adapting it to the requirements in the Member States of EU. Necessary changes in this aspect affected also the media sector, then operating on the free media market, where commercial ones fought for attention equals with the public broadcaster. The article is about changes in the radio sector, which were made before 1st May 2004. It is based on the Radio and Television Act.
