Summary/Abstract: Since this text represents the very first extensive psychohistorical approach to Romanian realities, linking together the past with the present in order to suggest a psychogenic continuity of motifs and collective obsessions, a theoretical outline of the method proves to be necessary. As Lloyd deMause puts it, “psychohistory has become a new science of patterns of historical motivations, less a division of history or psychology than a replacement for sociology...”.
