Summary/Abstract: The preparation of the future teachers to properly support the development of children in the preschool and early school age is an important issue in the teaching of higher education. During their studies, the teachers have a chance to prepare themselves not only in terms of substantive and methodical scope, but also to develop knowledge of their own capabilities. This article presents a study on the self-evaluation of students of preschool and early childhood education on selected components of musical preparation comparing the self-evaluation of their actual achievements
