New perspective of practical teacher training

Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the model of teacher education in Poland. It examines some of the ideas about how teachers should be prepared in changing world and society. The paper also offers some frameworks for new ideas in teachers education, eg. competency-based teacher preparation. The key element of teacher education is practical training. The main aim of this paper is to present a new perspective of practical training in teacher preparation based on EU projects „Usus est optimus magiste r – praktyka jest najlepszym nauczycielem”. The project was implemented by the University of Bialystok in cooperation with Pedagogical University in Krakow, Rzeszow University and Bialystok Technical University, and developed innovative programs of practical training in preparation for the teaching profession.
