Summary/Abstract: The Slavic substratum of the Hungarian language was not uniform in a dialectical sense. Among the late Slavic dialects of the 9th century, in addition to the so-called Pannonian Slavic, also a dialect of Bulgarian character was represented not only in the southeastern peripheral areas, as it had previously been suspected, but also in some central parts of the present- day Hungarian language area. In this paper, the author provides language material for the localization of these former dialects.
