Summary/Abstract: The novel is a conservator of the so-called silent pages, i.e., the dark spots of a nation’s history silently transmitted through time. The novel witnesses injustices and traumas, and it can shed light on those dark spots through a process of questioning unexplained historical events, such as the tragic Aegean Exodus. In the text, through an analysis of important works, namely Crno seme (Black Seeds) and Crveniot konj (The Red Horse) by Tashko Georgievski, and Egejci (The Aegeans) by Kica Bardhzieva-Kolbe, such dark spots of Macedonia’s national history have been opened, namely, the tragic Aegean Exodus. Focus is placed on the human/man in a foreign country, his attempts to adapt, with the emphasis on individual destinies of people affected by military events, and thus sentenced to life in an uncertain and "temporary" homeland, like an Other. The issues addressed include a search for lost identity, where connecting with the hearth is equal to the roots of love, with complete freedom and sovereignty, as well as joining the key points that these works bring together.
