The Identity Tendency Of Turkish Oriented Immigrants

Summary/Abstract: It was migrated from Turkey to European countries mainly Germany since 1960 for business purposes. The Turkish-origin immigrants, who planned to work for a short period time and return their country. But after ‘family reunification’ became a permanent in Europe. Today five million Turkish immigrants live in Europe. Today, the next Turkish generations who born in Europe are far more advenced the firs generation in terms of education and economics. This is also an important influence on their identity. So it can be said that three identites have developed in Germany. These are; hybrid identity, diasporic identity and ‘Euro islam’ ‘European Muslim’ identity. İn this article, the formation of identity, the types of identity and three identities that came up in Europe are sought to be examined.
