Summary/Abstract: Media increasingly takes on the role of parents, educators, teachers and virtual characters are becoming idols. To understand how the media affects us, why we have certain emotional reactions and why we behave in a certain way, we have to go to the beginning. When we were still fetuses, were not saturated with a lot of information and communication was not saturated with noise. The earliest age allows us to observe the simple principles of communication that the media later utilize to attract the attention of viewers and make content more attractive. In this paper the focus will be on commercials, movies and video games. It will be analyzed how biological predispositions and inborn instincts are used to attract viewers. The analysis will also encompass the sociological and psychological reasons for their popularity and the consequences of their impact on the individual and society.
