Summary/Abstract: Balikesir is among the provinces most preferred by the refugees. Nevertheless, this situation brings along many problems, including the ones which refugee children encounter in their education. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the problems refugee children face in education from the teachers’ point of view. The study is conducted in 30 primary schools in the center of Balikesir province throughout the 2017- 2018 education years. We employ qualitative research methods in the study and analyze the data via content analysis method. The findings suggest that the students generally suffer from language problems, which result in difficulties in adjusting to the school and their friends, social exclusion and occasionally disciplinary problems with the school administration. We recommend that the refugee students are given a language course before they begin school, are provided a special counseling service along with their families, and their families are employed as voluntary teachers in schools if their educational credentials allow.
