Summary/Abstract: Mangala, which has been widely played by Turks for a very long time, on a wide geographical area, revived in Turkey by 2000s and stirred up excitement as a cultural heritage subject. The primary reason for its revival is that it was converted into a box game and presented to people this way. Besides, the game was featured in TV series, quiz shows and in other cultural programs and in cartoons. A documentary film about the game was made. The game was supported by game researchers, columnists, academics, artists, statesmen, and politicians to provide more attention to the game.
