Summary/Abstract: The tradition of minstrels and the minstrel of music that is shaped by this tradition, constitutes a big part of our culture of Turkish folk music. This richness, which was born on a very large geographical area, being handed down from generation to generation with the word of the minstrel, is a very important aspect to keep the minstrel tradition alive where they get lesser and lesser day by day. This research focuses on the minstrel that still alive in the regions; non-officially named as “Gaziler Ovacığı” located between Amasya and Çorum, a part of Amasya and Suluova, the region also includes the Merzifon Plain and Gümüşhacıköy. In our research we have given place to and given information about their lives of those who lived and are still living in those areas and also those who have touched hearts with their words. Study; It contains a wide range of a name list of the people who dedicated their lives to make the tradition of minstrels unforgettable in the provinces and cities of Amasya. Information was gathered as a result of the interviews with the minstrel who were alive. The information about the minstrel who are not alive was obtained from the written sources, from the close relatives and friends, and from the words that speak to us from heart and give us hints. At the end of the research, the lives of local minstrel, artistic contributions of their production to local cultures were determined.
