Summary/Abstract: In this study, two definitions about man are compared and analyzed: Koran’s definition and the definition of modern social sciences. Such an enquiry is based on the idea that Muslims need to social sciences. Firstly it is tried to define what is the actual human being. Secondly, two definitions which are belong to Koran and social sciences are given and actual human definition is compared with them. After explaining the need of modern Muslims to social sciences, it is investigated the relationship between social sciences and the truth. The main idea of this study is that Koran’s understanding of human being is not compatible with the social sciences. However, those who believed in Islam have adapted themselves to the modern consumption patterns. For this reason Muslim individuals are forced to encounter with modernity. These encounters are understood and analyzed merely in terms of the modern social sciences. However, the main goal here is that the focus point should be to solve the problems in modern Muslim’s life, not the Islamization of the social sciences.
