Summary/Abstract: The fact, the women who constitute the half of our society are not in the desired position in the entrepreneurship activities -which is the main driving force of the country’s economy-, has increased the interest of academicians and practitioner. In this study, the housewives’-who are an important source of woman entrepreneurs- idea of entrepreneurship, was examined. The data was gathered via a semi-structured interview from 128 housewives in Gaziantep by asking how to create a business plan if they set up a business. According to the findings, it was determined that 48% of the women had business idea related with food sector and 14% of the women with the textile sector while one of every four housewives has planned to use the internet in their entrepreneurship process. Within the scope of the research, it was determined that the environmental and cultural factors effect the housewives’ entrepreneurship ideas, and suggestions were made to practitioners and academicians related to the subject.
