TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND IMPORTANCE OF TECHNOLOGY FOR BUSINESS ORGANISATIONS

Summary/Abstract: Currently, the changes in technology led the business organizations to give more importance on total quality and information technologies. Owing to the globalization, business organizations should be informed of technological advancement and they should use these advancements on their business. Thus, business organizations should follow the technological advancement in order to extend their market place and survive. This increases the importance of technology and quality for the business organizations. Therefore, total quality management and importance of technology for business organizations were analyzed. The analysis was performed by survey method with the managers of business organizations active in Van Organized Industry Zone. Data obtained from 75 managers were analyzed with descriptive survey model. Mean, standard deviation, x-square and U tests were used in order to analyze the data. According to the results; the effect of total quality management and usage of information technologies did not change with personal factors such as age, gender, position held and incumbency. However, there were changes in respect to educational level. On the other hand; opinion about the effect of using technologies on total quality applications did not change with factors associated with business organizations such as market, existence of TQM philosophy, field of activity, legal structure, and kind of ISO and application duration of TQM. Yet, this opinion shows differences in respect to the amount of employee and annual turnover amount.
