Summary/Abstract: Technological developments has been felt everywhere in life and it is also seriously affects the tourism system which composed of many sub-processes. Moreover, the scope of the used technology in tourism is increasing day by day. In this study, it has been investigated how technological developments affect tourist guides which is an important element of the tourism sector. Following the literature review, the primary data of the study has been collected through the execution of 16 semi-structured interviews with tourist guides in Istanbul. According to findings, the effects of technological developments on the tourist guidance profession have been examined under three sub-titles; before the tour, during the tour and after the tour. Finally, the SWOT analysis has been carried out from the findings of the semi-structured interviews with tourist guides.
