Summary/Abstract: The formation of the concept of family, which comes from the need to maintain human generation, has an important place in Turkish society. Founding a family in Turkish society starts with the realization of marriage ceremony. Throughout human life, there are three important “transition periods”: birth, marriage and death. Marriage is also considered as the transition period of life after birth. In the past, the lives of the Turks in a prosperous society have caused them to take their own cultures to the places where they are, and unwillingly to be influenced by other cultures. For this reason, customs and beliefs related to marriage, although the region from the region varies in shape, it is a whole within itself. The aim of this study is to prevent the destruction of traditions and beliefs related to marriage, which is one of the transitional periods of life, living Bahşiş Yoruks in Anamur and its environs, and to transfer this cultural accumulation to future generations. In this study, field research, case studies and methods of exploiting written sources were used in the compilation of folk culture products, and observation and interview methods were preferred. In addition, the information gathered on the basis of negotiations and observations made by the individual persons will be examined in three main titles so as to form a whole pre-marriage, marriage rank and post-marriage ritual.
