Summary/Abstract: Interference in the political and cultural sphere of Japanese society has undoubtedly left its mark on the contemporary perception of foreigners by the Japanese. Over the years, the Japanese have created a rather negative image of foreigners, whom they finally called as “barbarians”. What is extremely important, the article raises problems connected not with tourists, but foreigners permanently residing in the Land of the Rising Sun. I present in it how the Japanese now receive other nationalities and how they defend themselves against them through even restrictive law.
