SOCIAL AND HISTORICAL ASPECT OF THE TUBERCULOSIS AND THE BACTERIOLOGY FOUNDER’S ROBERT KOCH SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTION

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the study. The article presents the results of an analysis of historical and modern sources of scientific information concerning socially conditioned and epidemiologically dangerous morbidity of the tuberculosis for the population. The focus is on the historical chronological features of the causes of the epidemic, pathogenetic development, the spread of tuberculosis, which caused a danger to public health in past historical epochs. The disease was referred to in the legislative documents of ancient Babylon, the description of the disease was found in Egyptian hieroglyphs, Persian books, Indian "Ayurveda". Methods of research are such as historical, analytical, linguistic observation, system analysis. Scientific novelty refers tj the historical and modern materials of scientific sources for the problems of tuberculosis with the first systematically analysis. Conclusions. The importance of the scientific discovery of the brilliant scientist Robert Koch, who discovered as first human the causative agent of tuberculosis, has been shown, and its cause-and-effect processes were described. His classic works on the development of methods for the detection and study of microorganisms, promoted the active development of bacteriology in many countries around the world, thanks to which outstanding scientists discovered new infectious agents, developed standards of treatment and effective preventive technologies. The use of knowledge of historical experience, characteristics of the causative agent of tuberculosis, social conditions of occurrence and diseases of a tuberculous nature will contribute to a more efficient process of its diagnosis, treatment and prevention in the practice of the doctor.
