Starania Wojciecha Korabity Ostrowskiego o legitymację szlachectwa w Heroldii Królestwa Polskiego – przyczynek do problemu
Wojciech Korabita Ostrowski’s efforts for the legitimacy of the nobility in the Heroldia of the Kingdom of Poland

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the work is to briefly present the procedure for the recognition of the nobility by the Heroldia of the Kingdom of Poland. The basic source material used in the text is the incomplete documentation of Wojciech Korabita Ostrowski which is kept in the Archives of Ostrowski and Potocki from Maluszyn, located in the State Archives in Łódź. The deficient archives were supplemented, as far as possible, with the files and lists of the Second Council of State and the Herold locates in the Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw. The article has a contributory nature, but it seems that the actions taken by one of the landlords described above can give an idea of the problems the nobility had faced after the Russian Empire’s obligation to proves its origin. The collected source database shows formal and administrative problems, which in the case of minor nobles could result in degradation in the social hierarchy. Celem pracy jest krótkie przedstawienie procedury uznawania szlachectwa przez Heroldię Królestwa Polskiego. Podstawowym materiałem źródłowym wykorzystanym w tekście jest niepełna dokumentacja Wojciecha Korabity Ostrowskiego przechowywana w zbiorach Archiwum Ostrowskich i Potockich z Maluszyna znajdującym się w Archiwum Państwowym w Łodzi. Wybrakowane archiwalia podworskie uzupełniono, o ile było to możliwe, o akta i wykazy II Rady Stanu oraz Heroldii znajdujące się w Archiwum Głównym Akt Dawnych w Warszawie. Artykuł ma charakter przyczynkarski, jednak wydaje się, że omówione w nim działania podjęte przez jednego z ziemian mogą dać wyobrażenie, z jakimi problemami borykał się stan szlachecki po wprowadzeniu przez Cesarstwo Rosyjskie obowiązku udowadniania swojego pochodzenia. Zebrana baza źródłowa ukazuje bowiem kłopoty formalno-administracyjne, które w przypadku drobnej szlachty mogły skutkować degradacją w hierarchii społecznej.
