Summary/Abstract: The paper addresses the issue of Linear Pottery Culture in the marginal region of its area. The issue is met by the analysis of materials from the easternmost ever excavated settlement of Linear Pottery Culture, Kamyane-Zavallia, recently acquired in the course of systematic excavations led by the author in 2014. An overview of other near-by sites reveal that the only representative sample of chipped stone finds comes from Kamyane-Zavallia. Other collections are either unpublished or are gathered on surfaces of sites. The lithic collection of Kamyane-Zavallia (works of 2014) comprises 230 items coming from cultural layer, a deepened object and from the site’s surface. The aim of knapping was a medium-wide blade, with curvy profile and wavy dorsal arrises. The dominant typological group is those of end-scrapers. The next one is those of retouched blades. The geometric microliths are represented by asymmetrical trapezes. The author argues that the complex of Kamyane-Zavallia rather resembles the sites of Middle Dniester aspect of flint industry of Linear Pottery Culture than Volhynian sites of this culture. The typical shapes of lithic tools find closer analogies in Moldova and Romania. There is little if any indication of local “Mesolithic heritage” in Kamyane-Zavallia lithic inventory so far.
