Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to show the ways of application of categories of philosophical anthropology that express the relation between love and a man as a differentiated integrity in the theory and practice of translation. The author differentiates four dimensions of love – filia, eros, agapé and caritas agapé. They are identified in Shakespeare´s tragedy Romeo and Juliet in Slovak translations by Karol Strmeň and Ľubomír Feldek. He suggests claim that a good translator should try to keep ratio of individual dimensions of love from original text in a translation.
