World association for sexology ethical code

Summary/Abstract: Research and medical progress, as well as changes in social value-systems, influence the need for medical law development. Different international documents appear to regulate the axiological basis of therapeutical relationships in medicine. This article presents the basis for discussion about the design of The Polish Sexological Society Code of Ethics based on The World Association for Sexology (WAS) Code of Ethics. This Code was based on 10 other ethical codes approved by national sexological, psychological and juridical associations. The WAS Code of Ethics does not repeat other codes but complement documents which are important in terms of professional ethics of people that are working in practical as well as scientifical fields of sexology. The Code defines and promotes basic rules and standards in sexological practice and describes the rules that guarantee protection for people searching for help in this field.
