Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present partial results of the research carried out by the authors over the last two years and more. This research could be described as being situated at the crossroads of diplomatic law and architectural design. The paper comprises four parts. The first contains information on the research results to date plus a reference to the direction of deliberations set by the organisers of a conference, „Interdyscyplinarne Spojrzenie na Społeczeństwo: Relacje i spotkania jako przedmiot badań” (An Interdisciplinary Look at Society: Relations and Encounters as a Research Subject), held on 25–26 September 2015 at the Institute of Applied Social Sciences of Warsaw University. Part two presents a sketch of public international law, with special attention given to its sources, focusing primarily on international customs and soft law norms. The authors also discuss select regulations from diplomatic law, which paints the backdrop essential for the analysis. In the third section, the mechanisms behind how particular architectural solutions affect existing diplomatic law are explained. An example of a concert organised at an embassy is used to illustrate the above. Conclusions bring the paper to a close.
