Summary/Abstract: Humanist ceremonies, and weddings in particular, are becoming increasingly popular in Poland. This article describes how such weddings look in Poland, what is being said during them, what the marital vows consist of, who the bride and groom are, and who celebrates with them. The role played by the family during the organising of the wedding and at the ceremony itself is analysed, while the paper also deliberates over how these ceremonies fit into today’s transformations in the areas of intimacy and spirituality. Who these newlyweds are and what motivates them to opt for a humanist wedding leads to a conclusion linking these ceremonies with the middle class.
