Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the motif of womanhood in the poetics of Charles Baudelaire. The aim of the work is to demonstrate the closer relations of the poetry of this author by choosing of “unproblematicˮ aspect of his writing. The motif is closely related with the author´s understanding of beauty and nature and is determined by his view of aesthetic and poetics. In the work we try to point out to the different images of the motif of womanhood and to its contradictory meanings. By exploring of female lyrical subject and the relationship between man and woman in Baudelaire´s poems we identify characteristic features of his poetry.
