Summary/Abstract: Many companies across the word consider the organization culture crucial for their employees’ performance and their business success. Therefore, to shape their corporate culture, they have company values as part of their strategy cascaded down to the employee level through core behavior competencies that are listed as clear behavioral requirements for their employee to be successful in their job and in the company. The process of developing behavioral competency frameworks is long and complex. There are several approaches to competency modeling and all of them require thorough job analysis and an in-depth understanding of the company strategy and the industry. However, the companies who decide to design and implement behavioral competency framework consider the effort worth it because of the direct link between individual behavior, performance and organization culture and success. The purpose of this research is to investigate several behavioral competency frameworks for organizations from different industries to understand similarities and differences.
