Summary/Abstract: In the paper we deals with interpretation of selected poems from the collections of Milan Rúfus – poeta sacer. We choose poetic texts from the books Pamätníček (1995), Po čom to chodíme (2001), Modlitbičky (2003) and Rúfus's testamentary triptych Ako stopy v snehu (2008), that the spiritual value of the Christmas biblical story about the birth of a God's child, Jesus Christ and the meaning of his sacrifice for human life linking them to the aesthetic value of poetic text.
