Summary/Abstract: At the transition from the 18th to the 19th century, there were significant changes that would steer European, Balkan, Bosnian and Ottoman history in the period that followed. In France, a French civil revolution followed by Napoleon’s wars began, a national awakening and nationalist mobilization movements began in the Balkans, as the “foreign authorities” often state in the Bosnian eyalet against the Ottoman reforms and the gradual shaping of relations with the Porte and the movement for autonomy, in the Ottoman Empire, sultan Selim III is trying to implement reforms that would bring his state closer to European order. In such circumstances, one of the significant personalities of these areas was active - Osman Pazvantoglu, who was sometimes rebellious and opposed to reforms, and sometimes loyal to the sultan, a man with local background. In this paper, the author tried to find, on the basis of the available sources and relevant literature, several facts about this famous person, which is still a source of interest of the public and researchers, and thus encourages new research.
