Summary/Abstract: In the contemporary age, the force of civil society is proving its effectiveness in defending the state of contemporary law, good governance in general, representing everywhere in the world a key factor in the democratic consolidation of states. Civil society also has a particularly important role in community development, involving citizens in solving the problems of public life, in government, in the development of the economy, in protecting the environment. Civil society is not a new concept introduced in political language. Over the years, it has seen different forms of social-political conditions existing at that time. The present study aims to bring into the analysis the main historical-philosophical and political milestones, thus pointing to the evolution of the concept of civil society from its origins.
