Summary/Abstract: This text discusses the issue on models of fatherhood in both traditional and contemporary terms, in the perspective of male involvement in family life, in the process of raising a child. The authors postulate the need for pedagogical change, as a result of which more will be underlined the participation of the father in family education process. This is a current topic and important from a pedagogical point of view. New, changing conditions of family life raises a number of questions about the role that the father should act as in the family, in the process of the child’s upbringing.
