Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the issue of filiation of a child following the entry into force of the Act of 25 June 2015 on infertility treatment (consolidated text, Journal of Laws of 2017, item 865) on 1 november 2015. Pursuant to article 91 of said Act, changes have been introduced to the Act of 25 February 1964 – the Family and Guardianship Code (Journal of Laws of 2015, item 583 and 1062), which affected the scope of the following articles: 62 §1, 68, and 85 § 1 (the indicated articles have been drafted anew). Additionally two more provisions have been introduced to the Family and Guardianship Code, namely art. 751 and 851.As a result of medically assisted procreation, including the in vitro fertilisation, changes have been introduced to the filiation regulations, the issue of acknowledgment of paternity has been affected in particular, which in turn may influence the implementation of best interest of the child principle and the right to know one’s own biological origin.
