Summary/Abstract: The tradition of treating with the herbs, and the their usage in the procedures in the field of the magical rituals, lasted especially in the village societies. Repeatedly, they are mentioned by Wieslaw Mysliwski, who, frequently, sets the action of his novel outside the cities, and his protagonists appear to have the knowlegde and qualities indicating the abilities to use the herbs. The goal of the paper is the linguistic analysis of the discussed elements of the phyto sphere and their usage in the characters’ everyday life.
