Summary/Abstract: The article points to the processes of change in the economy that seek to take account of human subjectivity and its needs in economic, social and civic terms. As part of these changes, social innovations are used as innovations aimed at improving the quality of people's lives in organizational and relational terms. Opposing the systemic approach of prosociality comes the concept of the social economy as a segment of social market econ-omy that pursues social objectives within the framework of economic activity. Social en-terprises are a component of the social economy. The aim of the article is to point to social innovation in the context of social enterprises. The phenomenon of innovation, so-cial innovation and social enterprises has been described. Social enterprises constitute an important element of the landscape of the economy, in terms of the socio-economic order, taking into account the factor of social innovation.
