Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to analyze the development perspectives of the geospatial domain in order to adapt the use of these types of information in the planning and performance of missions. At first we explain terms that do not have a clear definition agreed by the entire geospatial community, such as geographic, geospatial, GEOINT. Then, we analyze how to use geospatial information in military decisions, as well as their influence on combat functions. This is followed by the evaluation of modern technologies that support the development of the geospatial domain and the identification of some directions and trends of development.
