Summary/Abstract: The district of Podrima as a part of the feud of the Deçani Monastery and later as integral feud of the Prizren’s Monastery of Head-angels during the 14th century had an important economic, political and social role. A region placed near the river Drini i Bardhë was abundant with vineyards, fruit trees, and lots of other agriculture products. There was not missing the life of clerics who were connected to the monastery of Headangels. In the settlements of this district crossed medieval road “Via de Zenta” which enabled traders from Ragusa to send their products “vic e versa” in their colonies in Trepça, Bërskova, Prishtina and elsewhere. During the late 14th century and early 15th century it entered also in the frame of domains belonging to Arbërorian Princes such as Balshaj, Dukagjini and Kastrioti. During that time this province of favorable geographic position and agricultural incomes undoubtedly was of essential relevance for these princes. Having in mind also Ragusian trade it was the main pivot where named princes benefited from the taxes which were placed by them during their ruling in medieval Kosovo.
