Summary/Abstract: The ‘microscopic’ logical analysis of two variants of an imagined short conversation becomes the occasion to discuss illocutionary forces, the role of pre-predicative evidences and practical quantifiers (‘in intension’) in everyday inferences, the role of implicit inferential options in conversational strategies such as ascribing affirmative and negative identities, as well as many other features of the logic of practice.
