Summary/Abstract: The author analyses Tuwim’s szmonces works and the picture of the Jews he painted in them from the angle of these characteristics of the humour of the Polish-Jew-meets-Polish-Jew variety. Her analysis reveals many unknown and unexpected references to traditional Jewish humour in Tuwim’s cabaret contributions.
