Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to identify Catholic Social Teaching ideas in the sociological thought of Jan Turowski, a Professor of the Catholic University of Lublin. The premise behind this study is the biography and historical context of the academic activity of the Professor. The paper explores three categories which are crucial for Catholic Social Teaching and present in the sociological literature published by J. Turowski. Firstly, it provides a brief overview of the concept of man and its relationship to social order. Then it proceeds to analyse human rights, which, as Turowski would argue, determine the relationship between people and society. Finally, the article draws parallels between the way social subsystems are approached in Catholic Social Teaching and in sociological publications of this sociologist from Lublin.
