Summary/Abstract: In the early 80s, when Romania’s official communication was directed by the propaganda machine of a single party - the Communist Party, democratic countries began to talk about media reaching a stage in which it would change the nature of political processes. Media Democracy is characterized, by the fact that media takes on some of the vital functions of political parties, thus having a central position in the political system, and also by the fact that political and governing practices have adapted to the central role of media, especially television.
