Summary/Abstract: Recent developments in information and communication technology are reshaping the societies of many countries around the world. The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of the information revolution on security from the perspective of the international relations theories. Two general international relations “schools” (realism, liberalism) are scrutinized with regard to what they can say about security in the digital age. This article also explores the theory developed around the concept of “soft-power”, paying special attention to the role of this approach in the process of understanding the digital-age security.
