Summary/Abstract: The latest epigraphic discovery in the camp of Legion XIII Gemina is the theme of our article. The discovery is a votive altar dedicated to Iupiter Optimus Maximus and to the protective Genius of the centuria by a non-commissioned officer with the rank of optio, M(arcus) Atti(us) Valens. It was identified in situ, to the entrance in contubernium, more precisely next to one of the rooms used to deposit the weapons (arma). This room was very close to the apartment of the centurion. After the writing manner of the letters, which are not carefully executed, and the context of the discovery, which is the last level of Roman habitation, the votive monument is placed chronologically during the military anarchy. We are not in the possession of data for a more precise dating. It is the second monument discovered in Apulum dedicated to the protector Genius of the centuria. This military deity is attested in Potaissa by the texts of two votive altars28. Our character is attested for the first time and completes the list of optiones in Legion XIII Gemina.
