Summary/Abstract: The author writes about Orthodoxy which has, by the Providence of God, been placed between the Western Christianity, on one side, and the Sunni Islam, on the other. He also writes about church nationalism (phyletism) which was always been present in political and linguistic nationalism in the former Yugoslavia. According to him, the relationship between Orthodoxy, on one side, and Islam and Western Christianity, on the other side, is not satisfactory. In order to become such, it would be important that the Orthodox Church creates new theology which would, primarily, be a theological (Orthodox) response to the signs of the times. However, this has not become reality yet.
