Summary/Abstract: This article has resulted from the 2nd National Conference on Neurodevelopmental Disorders, which took place on the 24th September 2016 in Szczecinek. The current knowledge was presented there and the issues of diagnosis, therapy, and chances for children with neurodevelopmental disorders were discussed. Many of these disturbances are genetically conditioned, for example, the Asperger or fragile X chromosome syndrome. Teachers, parents, guardians possess sufficient knowledge and skills to deal with the problems related to the aforementioned disorders. What seems relatively little known or omitted in the child’s environment is fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), which is not associated with genes but the mother’s alcohol use in the fetal life. Learning the ways of diagnosing, therapy and support for children with FAS is an extremely important issue in the times when a growing number of pregnant women drink alcohol and the health of their children should be taken care of. This article is intended to zoom the problem of FAS.
