Summary/Abstract: Ferenc Liszt was born two hundred years ago (1811), and died one hundred twenty-five years ago (1886). There are post-romantic signs in two different ways in the Hungarian composer’s art: in his style and in his temperament. These phenomena are historical and personal. The Lisztian post-romanticism is not the world of renouncement, getting off or acquiescence in the inevitability of “consummatum est”. His messages turn to the transcendence.
